Massive Corruption Leading to Mass Wrongful Convictions
After reading THEY CAN'T TAKE YOUR NAME some have wondered if the kind of injustice described in the book—systemic corruption that leads to mass wrongful convictions—is realistic.
Unfortunately this kind of corruption is all too real and recent.
Here are three examples:
I set my novel about systemic injustice leading to wrongful convictions in my hometown of Denver because I (we) must not assume that what happens in other places is not also happening where we live.
This is also why a substantial portion of my advance/royalties are going to the Korey Wise Innocence Project.
